U.S. scientists discovered that a drug based on broccoli and cauliflower, can help prevent melanoma, one of the deadliest forms of skin cancer. A report from the journal Clinical Cancer Research, researchers at the Medical College of Penn State University show that in tests done in mice showed that these compounds combined with selenium fight tumors more effectively than conventional therapy. In general, melanoma begins as a mole on the skin but also occur in tissues of the eyes or intestines. Until now it was known that the plants were fighting certain cancers, but to have effective results should be administered in large doses. To address this deficiency, selenium added, allowing intravenous administration in small quantities.
