The prostate cancer one of the most horrific causes of male mortality with respect to cancer has been studied for years for medical and scientific community.
The process of diagnosis has also been studied, this time by scientists from the Netherlands, led by Jonas Wilson Medical Center VU University of Amsterdam, who have developed a key to the diagnosis of this type of cancer that would analyze fat bubbles pass through the urinary tract and travel through the urine.
It is in these little balls of fat that could be important information about the tumor that occurs in the patient.
These pellets, is called exosomes and may be found in cancer patients and in healthy patients, but it'sthe first that are excreted in larger amounts. These exosomes are molecules of ribonucleic acid (RNA) that reach the surface launched directly from the tumor.
The components found in these exosomes, can give us insights into active genes of cancer and their differences in terms of type (aggressive and latent).
The study was published in the British Journal of Cancer Research.
